Over the past two decades, China’s People’s Liberation Army has transformed itself from a large but antiquated force into a capable, modern military. Although China continues to lag the United States in terms of aggregate military hardware and operational skills, it has improved its relative capabilities in many critical areas. To advance the public debate, RAND used open, unclassified sources to compile The U.S.-China Military Scorecard: Forces, Geography, and the Evolving Balance of Power. This comprehensive report examines U.S. and Chinese military capabilities in ten operational areas, and presents a “scorecard” for each.
Each scorecard assesses the relative advantage or disadvantage of U.S. and Chinese forces in diverse types of conflict, at varying distances from the Chinese mainland, at different points in time from 1996 to 2017. Advantage means that one side is able to achieve its primary objectives in an operationally relevant time period while the other side would have trouble in doing so. The chart below collects the scorecards for each evaluated operational area.
To prevail in either of the scenarios below, Chinas offensive goals would require it to hold advantages in nearly all operational categories simultaneously. U.S. defensive goals could be achieved by holding the advantage in only a few areas. Nevertheless, Chinas improved performance could raise costs, lengthen the conflict, and increase risks to the United States.

“The Marine Corps is the most powerful and the strongest branch of the military. The training that the recruits endure during their 3 month boot camp or basic is more intense than all the other branches. For starters the Marines Basic is 3 months long, the Army’s is 9 weeks long, the Navy is also 9 weeks long, and the Air Force is 6 weeks long. The PFT fir the Marines is with a 3 mile run the Army has a 2 mile run and the Navy & Air Force both have a 1.5 mile run.”–this was the last answer, but I think that I may need to clarify slightly. If your question is in regards to numbers, than the Army for sure. If it is in regards to the highest technology, that is very hard t say–the Air Force and Navy have a lot of cool stuff, but so does the Army. Another thought is that some if not most Marine Corps job training is conducted at either an Army Base or with Army Soldiers. Again it is only a matter of opinion and there is no true test or competition that has ever taken place to determine who is tougher, stronger, smarter we are all Americans who stood up and answered the call to serve the greatest nation in the world when so many others were to afraid to do so.

Is The Toughest Military Branch The Most Dangerous To Be In
However, the toughest military branch is not automatically the most dangerous. The degree of danger, when judged in the context of the military, is more among units than broad branches.
Certain personnel encounter more risks on a day-to-day basis, such as pararescue jumpers. These members run towards danger instead of away. They head straight for the red zones to help other wounded and/or isolated soldiers.
Special operations, including members across military branches, also face a lot of risks by bull-heading direct action missions and targeting enemy leaders. The ordnance disposal squad, infantry soldiers, and combat engineers are other examples of high-risk units in the military.

The Rescue Swimmer training includes a four-month course even to get ready for the Rescue Swim course.

Women In The Armed Forces
All branches of the U.S. military enlisted women during World War II. The Woman’s Army Auxiliary Corps was established by the Army in 1942. In 1974, the first six women naval aviators earned their wings as Navy pilots. The congressionally mandated prohibition on women in combat places limitations on the pilots’ advancement, but at least two retired as captains. The 1991 Gulf War proved to be the pivotal time for the role of women in the U.S. Armed Forces to come to the attention of the world media there are many reports of women engaging enemy forces during the conflict.
In the 2000s, women can serve on U.S. combat ships, including in command roles. They are permitted to serve on submarines. Women can fly military aircraft and make up 2% of all pilots in the U.S. Military.

World War I was the first time in American history that the United States sent soldiers abroad to defend foreign soil. On April 6, 1917, when the United States declared war against Germany, the nation had a standing army of 127,500 officers and soldiers. By the end of the war, four million men had served in the United States Army, with an additional 800,000 in other military service branches.
Once war was declared, the army attempted to mobilize the troops very quickly. The fatigued British and French troops, who had been fighting since August 1914, sorely needed the relief offered by the American forces. The mobilization effort taxed the limits of the American military and required new organizational strategies and command structures to transport great numbers of troops and supplies quickly and efficiently.

The Air Force Is Known For Breaking The Sound Barrier
At the young age of 24, U.S. Air Force pilot Capt. Chuck Yeager was the first person to break the sound barrier that is, fly faster than the speed of sound. The feat was accomplished over the Mojave Desert in California in 1947. Flying at an altitude of 40,000 feet, Yeagers Bell X-1 aircraft exceeded 662 mph, the sound barrier at that altitude.
