Kauai Hotels With Military Discounts
Does anyone know of any hotels on Kauai that offer military discounts, and if they are really worthwhile? I’ve noticed sometimes companies don’t necessarily advertise if they do give a military discount or not, so I figured I’d ask 🙂
The Marriott chain offers military discounts.
You just need to ask. For The Marriott, there are three properties. One in Poipu, one in Lihue and in Kapaa there is a Courtyard.
My son inquired at The Kauai Beach Resort last year, and it didn’t beat a Hotels.com price.
If you are interested in renting a condo, inquire with the owner if they offer military discounts too. Some do!
Hitchhiker is right, the Marriotts will offer a military discount and they can be a bit more open, or pro-active about it. With most you just have to ask as most don’t state it. Any discount offered though can depend upon the season and how well they’re booking up. None of the various types of discounts are automatic. It can be a bargaining tool for you that may or may not be successful. And sometimes you get the rule that a discount may not be combined with another discount. If they’re offering a big promo at the time you may not be able to apply any other discount.
But hey, go for it. If you don’t hear what you want you should call directly to the hotel and ask the question. Many times it’s best to book directly with the hotel staff. They can have more flexibility in judgment calls than the nationwide toll free number reservationists.

Barbers Point Beach Cottages
These two- and three-bedroom cottages are located on White Plains and Nimitz Beaches, on the southwestern side of Oahu. They are fully furnished with kitchens and washer/dryer.

Bellows Air Force Station
Bellows is an Air Force resort located along a beautiful stretch of Waimanalo Beach on Oahus eastern side. The facility offers a range of lodging options to suit every budget and travel style, including 100+ beachfront cabins, 16 condo units, 10 camper cabins, and more than 50 campsites.
Bellows beach cabins are furnished and have fully-equipped kitchens. They can accommodate up to four guests. The N Mokulua condo units, each with two bedrooms, are also fully furnished and can comfortably sleep four adults. The cabins and condos all have WiFi.
The more rustic Cedar Camper Cabins are located in a wooded area. They have no electricity, kitchen, or bathroom but are convenient to the nearby bathhouse.
