Enlisted personnel in basic training are required to eat in government dining facilities and thus do not receive BAS.

Other Pays And Allowances
The local finance office can provide additional information about the many other special pays and allowances available in special circumstances or to service members performing certain duties. Examples of special pays and allowances include but are not limited to:
The tax implications of the various military pays and allowances can prove complicated. Some types of military compensation are taxable and others are not.
A useful rule of thumb: If the entitlement contains the word pay in the title i.e., Basic Pay it is considered taxable income unless the service member is serving in a designated tax-free combat zone. In a combat zone, all income earned by enlisted service members is tax free, including assignment and re-enlistment bonuses.
Officers may exclude from income tax only the amount equal to the highest monthly rate of enlisted pay plus their $225 Imminent Danger Pay. If the entitlement contains the word allowance in the title i.e., Basic Allowance for Housing it usually is nontaxable.
The following example illustrates monthly pay and how that pay is taxed for a third-year E-4 with a family, when deployed to Iraq from his/her duty station at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.:
In garrison: $2,507.10 basic pay + $386.50 BAS + $1,908 BAH = $4,801.60 total .

A General’s Job Description
There are four classifications of generals: brigadier general , major general , lieutenant general and general . The ranks correspond to pay grades O-7, O-8, O-9 and O-10. Pay grades are used to designate equivalent ranks across the Armed Forces since not all branches of the military use the same names. For example, an O-10 is a general in the Army, Marine Corps and Air Force, but an admiral in the Navy and the Coast Guard.
An O-10 is currently the highest rank in the U.S. Army. As an O-10, four-star general pay is the same as an O-10 in any branch of the military. Likewise, salaries for generals O-7 through O-9 are also the same throughout the Armed Forces. The Department of Defense website shows insignia and rank equivalents for all service members.

What Is The Military Police Officer Salary

When youre in the military, you dont get paid based on your job title but according to your rank and years of experience.
That being said, the Army generally promotes its service members at a faster rate than other branches, so they would be the go-to branch for rising a little more quickly in rank . Keep in mind, though, that the Army military police salary wont differ from the pay youd get as a police officer in other branches.
The most amount of money you can make on a military police officer salary is just over $16,900 per month, but dont get ahead of yourself. That pay is for the highest-level officers with 40 years of service.
Lets get down to some real numbers ones you can actually plan on achieving. What is the salary of a military police officer? Though it can vary widely, the military police annual salary for the majority of police officers falls between $39,000 and $45,000.
That equates to approximately $3,200-$3,750 a month. This also means that the bulk of military police officers fall somewhere between the ranks of E-5 to W-1, depending on their years of experience.
Everyone has to start somewhere, though. The military police starting salary at rank E-1 for less than four months of experience is just $1,694 per month, meaning that the average salary for military police of the lowest rank is just around $20,000 per year.

How Much Money Do Military Servicemembers Make
Here is a few month by month breakdowns of how much I made in 2018 as a captain in the US military. I won’t go through all 12 months because it doesn’t vary that much.
Pay can vary wildly even within the same branch of the military due to duty location.
BAH, or Basic Allowance for Housing, is an untaxed entitlement paid based on your duty location. It can range from $4000 per month in Hawaii to $900 per month in Oklahoma for the same pay grade.
I also was in a Combat Zone Tax Exclusion area for the entire year of 2018. That meant I paid no federal income taxes on my military income for all of 2018.
